The GSC Vision
The overall thrust of the School is to Christian discipleship. Our desire is that each student should know the Lord and be committed to a walk with Him. Also, should the Lord lead the student to college or a university, our intent is to provide him/her with the highest academic entry opportunities. The vision of GCS is that our students KNOW, GROW, and GO into all the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Gramercy History
Faith Evangelical Bible Church early on had a vision of providing a quality Christian education to the surrounding communities. In 1981 the Gramercy School opened its doors. The school was later re-named Gramercy Christian School (GCS) in order to clarify its mission as a faith-based school rooted in a biblical Christian worldview. The school’s name (Gramercy) was derived from an Old English expression meaning “great reward.” The school founders took their cue from Psalm 19:11, “By them [Law of the LORD] your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.” The Psalmist declares that one will gain “great reward” by adhering to the written word of God. The vision of the school ministry was that students would become recipients of this “great reward” as they learned solid academics along with the solid foundation of the written word of God.
The church/school campus has expanded over the years to meet the growing demands of this important ministry. The FEBC/Gramercy campus houses 15 classrooms, library, art room, band room, gym, weight room, school offices, worship center, computer room, science lab, playground areas for K5-5th grade, and soccer field. The GCS campus has two major divisions called Lower School (Grades K5-6) and Upper School (Grades 7-12).
Gramercy also provides a busing system that covers routes as far as New Bern, Beaufort and Cape Carteret.
