Gramercy Student Athletes Kick Off Soccer and Volleyball Season

Gramercy student athletes rallied at Jacksonville Christian Academy this past weekend to kick off the fall seasons of girls volleyball and boys soccer. The two-day tournament event was a great opportunity for Gramercy athletes to put their practice to the test against some of the teams they will be playing in the regular season.

Despite the heat, both teams looked strong and played solid games on the court and on the field.  Coached by Robert North, our Gramercy Warrior girls looked great and were tough to beat.  In the end, they took home the trophy, winning first place in tournament. Although the JV girls did not play in the tournament, girls volleyball would like to welcome 6th grader Ariana North to the team as well as new GCS students Tiffany Harris, Faith Smith, and Sierra Kage!

Coached by Bob Hardin and sporting brand new uniforms, our boys soccer team also played their hearts out.  Defeated only by JCA, the boys took home the second place trophy and some good experience to prepare them for the upcoming season. Four new 6th grade boys, Josh Lawrence, Jaydon North, Steven White, and Emmett Withee, joined the team this year and got enough playing time to at least get their feet wet.  Boys soccer also welcomes new GCS students Sam and Cole Stewart!

The Gramercy Athletic Department is looking forward to a positive season of hard work and fair play as coaches partner with parents to build solid Christian character into the lives of our student athletes. Please consider joining the team as a booster club member and come out and cheer on your Gramercy Warriors!
